Mind Tricks - Six Easy Ones

Many mind tricks are more than just tricks. They are creative techniques for tapping into the power of your mind. They entertain, but they also have more practical uses. A good example is the pupil trick. Look in the mirror and watch your eyes as you vividly imagine something pleasurable. It can be a beautiful scene, your favorite naked body, or anything else that will create desire in you. You ll notice your pupils getting larger almost immediately. If you practice a bit, you can make your pupils instantly larger at will. Pupils enlarge when you are aroused, interested and receptive. When you are with someone and your pupils dilate, the person you are talking to subconsciously senses your interest in them or what they are saying, and they like that. This makes it easier for them to like you, and to listen to what you suggest. You don t have to be a salesman to take advantage of this. Once you learn to control...

Which Beans To Choose For Cappuccino

How much do we really know about the coffee we drink every day. Where does the coffee used in our cappuccino machines come from. Next time you go into the kitchen to make a cappuccino take a look at the coffee packet and you might be surprised. The number of coffee producing coffees is growing rapidly, and the differences between the types of coffee according to their origin, can be astounding. Coffee produced in Columbia is, of course, known worldwide. One example is La Esperanza, grown at over six thousand feet in Tolima. Whilst the aroma of this particular coffee is likened to cherries, the taste contains an exquisite combination of chocolate and pipe tobacco tones. Less well known are coffees from areas such as Hawaii. A particular favorite from this island is...

Psycho-emotional Practice: Pne Balancing Therapy. December 2004

The purpose of this article is to introduce a method called PNE balancing therapy, which can be effective in evaluating and treating a wide range of mind-body psychosomatic complaints. Every health care practitioner has encountered patients who do not respond favorably to well-chosen treatments. Even after trying several therapeutic approaches, perhaps even referring the patient to other professionals, there is no substantive improvement. This experience is frustrating to both patient and therapist. We see this in patients with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, weight issues, addiction, depression, mood disorders, and many organic diseases. Countless patients with such complaints have been referred to mental health professionals, and have often ended up on long-term psychotropic drug regimes that may cause additional forms of suffering. Is there a better way. Mind-body medicine is a rapidly growing field that...

A Sleepless Nation 70 Million Strong

A new report by the National Academies Institute of Medicine shows that between 50 and 70 million Americans struggle with chronic sleep problems, and according to the United States Surgeon General, sleep deprivation and disorders cost the nation 15 billion in health care expenses and 50 billion in lost productivity each year. A lack of sleep can take a toll both psychologically and physically, from daytime sleepiness to weakened immune systems. Long-term sleep deprivation leads to problems that can include memory lapses, depression, irritability and impaired work performance. To win the battle over sleepless nights, many Americans are turning to medication. In 2005, 42 million prescriptions for sleeping pills were filled. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder, affecting between 30 and 40 percent of adults within a given year. Other sleep disorders include sleep apnea-a temporary suspension of breathing...
